Three intakes—fall/September, winter/January, and summer/may—are available for application submission to Canadian universities. Depending on the availability of their preferred courses, students may apply for any of the intakes.
Depending on the university, each intake has a unique deadline. In general, students should start applying 8 to 12 months before the start of the semester. Students who submit their applications on time are able to quickly obtain the necessary documents and have enough time to complete all requirements of the conditional offer letter.
In Canada, bachelor’s programmes last 4 years, whereas advanced diploma and diploma programmes last 2-3 years, respectively. Some diploma programmes last 1 year. PG courses often last between 8 months 24 months, but master’s programmes typically last 2 years.
Based on the length of their programme, Canada grants international students a post-study work visa. 8 months to 3 years are possible with PSWP. For courses that are less than 8 months long or that are not from Designated Learning Institutions (DLI), no PSW is provided.
